CEREMONY MARKING 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIET NAM - CHINA DIPLOMATIC TIES HELD IN DONG THAP UNIVERSITY

      On the afternoon of January 14, 2025, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, in collaboration with the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Dong Thap Province, held a ceremony at Dong Thap University to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of Vietnam - China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025).
 
      The event was attended by Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Le Xuan Hai, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University and Chairman of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Dong Thap Province along with numerous lecturers and students of Dong Thap University. The ceremony unfolded in a dignified and heartfelt atmosphere, providing a meaningful opportunity to celebrate 75 years of cooperation and the enduring bond of friendship between Vietnam and China - two neighboring nations linked by shared borders, intertwined mountains, and flowing rivers. The friendship between the two nations, initiated by Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong, and nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens, remains a priceless asset of both nations.
 
      Addressing the event, Deputy Consul General Mr. Xu Zhou extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of Dong Thap Province for their remarkable efforts in fortifying the bilateral ties. He affirmed that the Chinese Consulate General would continue to promote the tradition of friendship, enhance practical cooperation, and encourage people-to-people exchanges, contributing to the deepening and expanding of the 
Vietnam-China relationship.
 
       Dong Thap University takes pride in its contributions to building and fostering comprehensive cooperation in education and scientific research between the two nations. As one of the region's leading institutions for Chinese language training, the university has attracted a large number of students from both within and beyond the province. Currently, Dong Thap University is closely collaborating with various academies, universities, and enterprises in China to deliver Chinese language instruction and vocational training, achieving numerous noteworthy accomplishments. In particular, cultural exchange activities and bilateral cooperation have not only enhanced students' professional knowledge but also significantly contributed to strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and China.
