DThU - On September 23, 2025, Dong Thap University had the honor of welcoming a working delegation from the JAMWEI Institute and Tokyo Healthcare University.
The delegation was headed by Dr. Yoshino Masayoshi, President of the JAMWEI Institute, and comprised distinguished professors from Tokyo Healthcare University, namely: Prof. Masatoshi Ishikawa, Institute of Integrated Research; Prof. Seto Ryoma, Special Assistant to the President; Prof. Ayako Nishimura, Special Assistant to the President; Prof. Koji Ono, Director of the Center for General Education; Assoc. Prof. Tomoko Takahashi, together with fourth-year students from the Department of Medical Informatics and the Department of Nursing. Representing Dong Thap University were Mr. Cao Dao Thep, Vice Rector, along with leaders of relevant departments, faculties, and centers.
During the working session, the two sides engaged in discussions on potential areas of cooperation, including: advancing collaboration in agriculture; personnel exchange to support the establishment of a Health program; progress in the implementation of Japanese language teaching and learning; and opportunities for internships and academic exchange for students in Agriculture and Social Work.
A highlight of the program was the student exchange between Tokyo Healthcare University’s Health Sciences students and Dong Thap University’s Social Work students. The dialogue centered on key themes such as: policies and support systems for the elderly in Vietnam and Japan; salary, benefits, and working conditions for graduates; characteristics of the social work profession in Vietnam; students’ academic aspirations and career orientations; and their commitment to contributing to society through their chosen disciplines.
This visit and working session marked an important step in strengthening the tripartite partnership between Dong Thap University, the JAMWEI Institute, and Tokyo Healthcare University. It also opened new avenues for academic exchange, internship opportunities, and joint research in the future, thereby contributing to the enhancement of mutual understanding and sustainable collaboration.
