Festive Opening Ceremony Marks Start of 2025–2026 Academic Year at Dong Thap University

DThU - On the morning of September 5, Dong Thap University officially held its Opening Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year, welcoming 5,000 new students. The event was attended by Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, along with delegates, guests, business representatives, faculty members, and a large number of students.

Over the past year, the university has achieved notable results across all areas, including training (graduate, undergraduate, part-time, and distance learning), quality assurance, science and technology, digital transformation, community service, infrastructure development, learning and working environment, domestic and international cooperation, and educational services aligned with societal needs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, emphasized: “With the message of ‘Constructivist – Professional – Integrated’, the university is committed to building a modern, friendly educational ecosystem. Students will be equipped not only with solid academic knowledge but also with essential skills, global citizenship qualities, entrepreneurial spirit, and a sense of community service. Looking ahead, DThU is determined to become a leading educational destination in the region and beyond.”

Representing the freshmen, Nguyen Le Ngoc Minh from class ÐHSAN25 expressed heartfelt joy upon joining the DThU family and shared her aspirations and determination to uphold the proud traditions of Dong Thap University students.

In the new academic year, the university will continue to focus on key strategic directions: building a modern educational ecosystem, leveraging digital transformation to enhance governance, promoting its multidisciplinary strengths, and strengthening its brand and institutional culture—especially in preparation for the 50th anniversary of its educational tradition (1975–2025).

Currently, Dong Thap University has 560 staff members, including 18 Associate Professors, 100 PhDs, and 300 Masters, serving over 18,000 learners across various programs. The university offers 3 doctoral programs, 18 master's programs, 51 undergraduate majors, 31 part-time programs, and 11 distance learning majors. It also provides regular training, professional development, foreign language and IT courses, and VSTEP-based language certification.

On this occasion, the university awarded over 50 scholarships worth 2 million VND each to outstanding new students. Additionally, organizations and businesses contributed over 100 million VND to the university’s scholarship fund, supporting disadvantaged students with outstanding academic performance.
