From August 5 to 9, 2024, Dong Thap University hosted a delegation from Leyte Normal University, Philippines, led by Professor Lilibeth B. Fallorina, Chair of the Arts and Humanities Department. The visit aimed to foster cultural exchange, discuss collaboration in social work education, and explore various social work institutions in Dong Thap province.
During the visit, with the support of the International Affairs Office of Dong Thap University, the delegation participated in two sessions with the Social Work Department of the Faculty of Culture, Tourism, and Social Work at Dong Thap University. These sessions focused on detailing plans for student internship exchanges, faculty exchanges, specialized lectures, workshops, and scientific research collaborations.
The delegation also had the opportunity to visit several cultural and tourism sites in Cao Lanh and Sa Dec cities of Dong Thap province. A highlight of their visit was exploring the operations of the Dong Thap Multi-functional Social Patronage Center.
On behalf of the delegation, Professor Lilibeth B. Fallorina expressed her gratitude to the leadership and relevant units of Dong Thap University for facilitating the successful completion of their mission. She also indicated that the Social Work Department of Leyte Normal University will continue discussions with their counterparts at Dong Thap University on all related matters, aiming to propose the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and its implementation in the coming year.
