The event was attended by Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu – Vice Rector and representatives of the leadership, lecturers, and staff from Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences Teacher Education, Faculty of Mathematics-Information Technology Teacher Education, International Affairs Office, and members of the extracurricular English Language Clubs. 
 

Reportedly, to enhance the quality of English education, Dong Thap University collaborated with the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy to invite English Language Specialist to teach English language skills, American culture, and conduct teaching methodology training for both major and non-major students at the university. And in November 2022, Ms. Jill Yvonne King was sent to Dong Thap University as an English Language Specialist.
 

During the period from November 2022 to June 2024, Ms. Jill Yvonne King has successfully fulfilled her duties of a dedicated English expert. For students, she has ignited a passion for learning English, fostered confidence and dynamism, and helped them make remarkable progress in their English communication skills. Notably, under her dedicated guidance, some students have achieved UGRAD scholarships and passed the application round for the YSEALI program of the U.S. government. For lecturers, Ms. Jill Yvonne King has provided opportunities to learn, exchange professional experiences, access advanced teaching methodologies, and enrich their cultural experiences and language skills.
 

On behalf of the university leadership, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Vu acknowledged and highly appreciated Ms. Jill Yvonne King's contributions over the past period, and offered her the Certificate of Completion for her successful assignment as an English Language Fellow at Dong Thap University and expect to welcome her back to work in the future.
